The Sligo act have been chosen to be the 100th band to play at The Jägermeister Freezer Sessions.
In August, Hot Press and Jägermeister put out a call to find Ireland's best live act. Entries flooded in from all over the country and were whittled down to a shortlist of 20 incredible live acts. The public then cast their vote to help the judges decide who would become the 100th band to play at The Jägermeister Freezer Sessions... and win a trip to the home of Jägermeister in Germany.
Now, we are proud to announce the Jägermeister Freezer Sessions Live Band of the Year…Rackhouse Pilfer!
Hailing from Sligo and formed in 2012, they already have two Americana-inflected albums under their collective belt, featuring songs of great craft and emotional heft. Their most recent LP, Love And Havoc, was recorded and mastered in Nashville and arrived in May to strong reviews, with HP's Colm O'Hare noting that it will "find considerable favour with roots enthusiasts." Fittingly, they are also a brilliant live act, having built a reputation that finds them much in demand – no less a personage than Michael D himself asked them to perform at this year’s summer garden party at the Áras.
The Jägermeister Freezer Sessions 100 Series kicks off in November with gigs in Galway, Dundalk and Cork – as well as Dublin, where Rackhouse Pilfer will take to the stage.
