The pilot for a new RTÉ 2 live comedy and Irish music show, Late Night Get Go, is being filmed in The Good Bits venue on Store Street on October 30.
“Produced by Scratch Films, creators of the award-winning Naked Camera and the critically-acclaimed Fancy Vittles, it’ll be filmed over three floors, utilising three different stages,” reads the press blurb. “The audience will be encouraged to move over, under and around the venue at will. Stage 1 on the ground floor is the main performance area, which will be a showcase for new bands. A reputation for live performance will be the priority, so expect exciting new Irish talent like Bitches With Wolves, Cheap Freaks, Identity Parade, Paidraig Rushe and General Fiasco. An intro VT will tee up each act and give an insight into who they are and the music they play.
“Upstairs Stage 2 in the interview area is where our special guests have a pint and a chat. Informal interviews between guests will cover topics they’re passionate about, so expect some heated conversations, good crack and hopefully impromptu party pieces.
“The live performances will be inter-cut with specially filmed comedy sketches with the emphasis on sharp, observational comedians who we will return to throughout the show. Under the guidance of Naked Camera’s PJ Gallagher, rising stars The Giddy Girls and Gearoid Farrelly have created a series of newly devised characters, which will deliver laughs between the music and chat.
“Late Night Get Go is all about variety, giving viewers the chance to see the hottest new acts in music and comedy in a format that is fresh, energetic and original.”
