It was a great night at the Academy last night when a host of leading lights of Irish music played the music of the Minnesotan legend, in said of the Irish cancer Society.
Last night was a big one at The Academy, with musicians turning out in force to pay tribute to Prince – and raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
Among the artists to take to the stage were Paul Noonan, Paul Brady, Róisín O, Gavin Glass, Wyvern Lingo, Dave Geraghty, CC Brez – and lots more, with True Funk Soldiers as the house band. Hot Press’ Peter McNally was there and a review will be published shortly on hotpress.com.

In the meantime, here is a very special shot, taken backstage on the night. A close look will reveal the full extent of the musical talent that gathered in one of Dublin’s finest venues for the occasion.
