Prince pulls his music from Spotify and Apple Music
He's opted for TIDAL.
In a development that only came to our attention when a HP scribe tried to play 'I Would Die 4 U' in the office this afternoon, Prince has decided to have his back catalogue removed from Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming music services.
TIDAL subscribers are in luck, though – his music remains on that Jay Z-owned service, amid rumours that the Minneapolis legend is now in business with the company.
The 75% revenue deal for artists with TIDAL (over Apple Music's 71.5% and Spotify's 70%) as well as the higher fidelity, are thought to have been behind his decision to go exclusive.
