The Wexford star has been gaining international attention
Pierce Turner has announced that he will be playing concerts in Dublin's Sugar Club (June 20), Cork's Pavilion (28) and Wexford's Art Centre (July 4).
The singer and songwriter grabbed the attention of classical composer Philip Glass so much that he placed him alongside Patti Smith and Suzanne Vega in New York's newest venue The City Winery in March of this year.
The attention Pierce has received from Glass alone is a compliment as he has collaborated with David Bowie, Eno, Leonard Cohen and Woody Allen.
At home, Pierce has earned himself a song by Christy Moore entitled 'I Love The Way Pierce Turner Sings'.
Pierce will be playing music from his collaborations with Glass and from his upcoming album An Irish Education on what should be very special performances in his home country.
