Tune in from 11.30 this morning to catch Brian O'Connell have a revealing rummage through Lynott's attic.
Turn your dials to RTÉ Radio 1 this morning if you're a Thin Lizzy fan. Journalist Brian O'Connell has spent the morning with Phil Lynott's mother, unearthing some "rare gems" related to the late rocker that she's stored for years in her attic.
Undoubtedly a treasure trove for Lizzy fanatics, you can hear all about exactly what they found, as Philomena talks us through the memories the items evoke. Included is a letter from Philip Lynott’s school principal, accusing him of being "deliberately careless" with his school report on the way home from school.
The document – handwritten on headed paper from Princess Road Junior School in Manchester – is dated 26th July 1957 and was accompanied by the 'lost' school report. Both items will be featured in a new book, Philip Lynott: Still In Love With You – The Life and Music of Ireland’s Legendary Rock Icon. One of the most anticipated music tomes in years, the book is only available to those who make a 'pledge' in advance at[link]www.pledgemusic.com/philiplynott[/link].
The radio feature is on Today With Sean O'Rourke from half 11 this morning. Click here to listen.
