First installment inspired by his hit single 'Happy'
After decades of dominating the charts with his music - and his own clothing line and record label under his belt - Pharrell doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Now, he's sights set on conquering the world of children's literature.
The sensational singer-songwriter has inked a deal to write four children's picture books, with the first set to be based on his chart topping song ‘Happy’. The infectious tune has become one of the best selling singles of all time after selling 12 million copies last year.
The deal with publishers Putnam Books For Young Readers will see four books be published, with the first pencilled in for September 22. It will feature children from all around the world celebrating the meaning of happiness.
The singer and producer is not the first musician to venture into the world of children's books, following the footsteps of icons such as Madonna, Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton and David Bowie.
