The group pulled out of the gig to take "a stand against prejudice"
Pearl Jam have become the latest band to take a stand against North Carolina's discriminatory new laws.
The band were set to perform at Raleigh's PNC Arena on Wednesday (April 20) but have pulled out of the gig as they take "a stand against prejudice."
Earlier this month North Carolina passed a state law which means individuals must use bathrooms corresponding to their biological sex, a move which negatively impacts on trans people.
Both Bruce Springsteen and Ringo Starr have already pulled gigs in protest at the ruling.

"The practical implications are expansive and its negative impact upon basic human rights is profound," the band wrote in a statement published online. "We want America to be a place where no one can be turned away from a business because of who they love or fired from their job for who they are. It is for this reason that we must take a stand against prejudice."
Peal Jam will make a donation to a local LGBTQ rights group.
Elsewhere, Mumford and Sons made a donation from their recent gig in the state to a local LGBT charity.
