The British rock icon compiles the highlights of the last 15 years of his career.
Just in time for his sure to memorable outdoor date in Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham (June 24), the neo-mod guitar-god has announced a May 30 release for a new collection of his greatest hit, playfully entitled More Modern Classics.
More Modern Classics offers a potted history of Weller’s career renaissance over the last 15 years. It seems Weller can’t put out a record nowadays without it being hailed as his “best yet” so More Modern Hits is certain to be an essential compendium for die-hard fans who want all these gems in the same place and newcomers alike.
Where many of his contemporaries have proven themselves happy to re-tread the same old ideas as they drift into middle age, Weller has only gotten more experimental as the years have gone on as recent forward thinking opuses like Wake Up the Nation and 22 Dreams can attest.
