Dizzee Rascal, Julian Casablancas & Laura Marling are among those joining the Punchestown fray.
The Oxegen line-up gets better and better with Dizzee Rascal, Julian Casablancas, Laura Marling, Jamie T, Groove Armada, The Black Keys, The Cribs, The Stranglers, Fox Avenue, Chase & Status and disco legends Earth, Wind & Fire all being added to the line-up tonight.
Prior to their Punchestown appearance, EW&F will be inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame on June 17 alongside the similarly legendary likes of Leonard Cohen, Jackie DeShannon and David Foster.
Meanwhile, Julian Casablancas has been running round the States promoting his Phrazes For The Young album while The Strokes assemble their new album without him.
All in the camp is well though, with Casablancas due to add his vocals in the next few weeks.
“I'm pretty opinionated,” Jules admits. “Nothing pushy to the point of it's my way or no way, but I'll hear a song and be like, ‘Hmmm, it feels like the bass should be like something different’. Whereas if I feel like I wasn't in the room then they could just kind of spread their wings.”
We're also particularly excited about seeing recent Hot Press interviewee Laura Marling who's scored a major breakthrough with her new I Speak Because collection, which is a response to her breaking up with Noah And The Whale lead singer Charlie Fink.
While not on the official list of additions, Brooklyn outfit Dirty Projectors have declared themselves as playing Oxegen on the Saturday night.
