The Hot Press writer's acclaimed Don’t You Know Who I Am? will screen at Ireland's leading film festival.
Don't You Know Who I Am?, the 15 minute rock ‘n’ roll short penned by Hot Press writer-at-large Olaf Tyaransen, has been selected for inclusion at this year's Galway Film Fleadh.
Starring Alabama 3 singer Larry Love and directed by Paul Duane (Barbaric Genius, Amber), the short was shot in Galway last November on a micro-budget of just €2,000.
It tells the story of grieving rock star Rick Rossi (Love), who comes to Galway to mourn the death of his lead singer because he has been told that Irish people don’t bother celebrities. It turns out that they don’t – but they’re very anxious to let him know this.
“Obviously we’re all totally delighted that our film has been selected for the Film Fleadh,” says Olaf. “Not just because of the Galway connection. It can be tough to find audiences for short films, but the Fleadh is Ireland’s leading film festival and you never know who’ll be in attendance or where it might lead.”
The 26th edition of the six day international event takes place from July 8 to July 13.
