The spruced up 'D'You Know What I Mean?' sounds pretty damn awesome!
Noel Gallagher has given ‘D’You Know What I Mean?’ a fresh lick of paint for the October 7 re-release of Oasis’ 1997 Be Here Now album.
“As the years went by I'd started to accept that the songs on Be Here Now were in fact insanely long… too long!” he reflects. “Someone - I can't remember who - had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity’s sake. We got as far as the first track before we couldn't be arsed anymore and gave up… it does sound fucking mega though!”
He also attached a message to the Instragram posting of the revised artwork, which proclaims: “Even now this shit is out of the reach of 99.99% of rock 'n' roll bands. Brings a tear to my eye ball as to how fucking good we were.”
Needless to say, there will be additional B-sides, alternate takes and even an unreleased song or two to sweeten the deal.
Noel is certainly far more positive about Be Here Now than he was in 2000 when he described it as "a fucking waste of space." Read more at [link]hotpress.com/music/interviews/Shoulder-And-Wiser/1522370.html[/link]
