With the release of a limited edition vinyl version of their Lizard EP on the way, the Cork-based outfit have also lined up Irish dates.
O Emperor have confirmed the limited edition, vinyl re-issue of their critically-acclaimed Lizard EP. As revealed by Hot Press earlier this week, the new edition of the record will be released on Dublin-based indie label, Trout Records, in November.
In support of the release, the band will be playing Irish shows in November/December. Hot Press understands that the band are also planning a promotional push for the record in the UK.
Like its predecessor, the full album Vitreous, the four-tracker is an entirely self-recorded affair. It came together, according to the band, over the space of a week's jamming at their Big Skin HQ in Cork. "The EP signals somewhat of a loosening of belt buckles and inhibition,” a band spokesperson reveals. "The reckless nature of the approach is audible throughout and the result is something truly bombastic; an unapologetic embrace of all that is garish and gaudy."
The band are currently recording their third album and promise to showcase snippets of this new material at their upcoming shows.
The band’s full list of upcoming Irish dates is as follows:
Monaghan, Carrickmacross Arts Festival – August 23
Electric Picnic – September 6
Waterford, Theatre Royal – November 15
Dublin, Sugar Club – November 26
Galway, Roisin Dubh, 28 November 28
Cork, The Pav – December 3
