Hot Press cover star and disco legend, Nile Rodgers, releases the aptly-titled It's About Time in September...
It’s About Time -- whose artwork recreates the cover of the band’s 1977 debut album with modern fashion icons Duckie Thot and Jazzelle Zanaughtti -- has been announced just ahead of Nile's huge Malahide Castle show this weekend.
Last night, Nile gave a Jools Holland performance of a brand-new track from the upcoming album,
titled ‘Boogie All Night’. The song, which features rising British stars Mura Musa and NAO, is typically colourful and funky -- and indicates the breadth of collaborators the new album will include.
“I’ve had the great privilege of producing some of the greatest artists in the world so when it came time to collaborating for my own record the barometer was shall we say pretty high," Nile said of the new album.
It’s About Time will feature -- among others -- Craig David, Anderson Paak and Vic Mensa.
Nile Rodgers & Chic play Malahide Castle, Dublin this Saturday, June 16 with support from Craig David and Soul II Soul. Tickets are still available at www.ticketmaster.ie.
The 10th Nile Rodgers & Chic album will arrive September 7 via Virgin EMI.
