It’s another irish singer-songwriter, but not as we know it, Jim
Proving that the art of song-writing isn’t dead, Niall Colfer’s debut is a joy to listen to from start to finish. Recorded mostly in his home studio with the majority of instruments played by Colfer himself, the opus is a truly personal, introspective affair. Much of the album revolves around the universal theme of love and the guitar-work is beautiful throughout. Niall’s voice itself may not be as strong as others, but the urgency and honesty of his words more than make up for any short coming and ‘Blind Eye’ is one of the best tracks from an Irish singer/songwriter than I’ve heard in moons.
