A Treasure was recorded during Young's '84 and '85 US tours
Fresh from last years critically acclaimed Le Noise, rock legend Neil Young will release a new album next month which is in essence a golden oldie of sorts. A Treasure, out on June 10 is a 12-track live album, featuring 5 previously unreleased songs, recorded during the Young's 1984 and '85 US tours during which, due to infamous legal battles with then label boss David Geffen, left him without the support of an album or his record label. Young took to the road bringing a motley crew of his then band The International Harvesters while other country music legends surrounded him. Featured on some of A Treasure's tracks are the late, great Ben Keith and artists such as Spooner Oldham, Hargus Robbins, Tim Drummond and Joe Allen.
A Treasure will also be released in a variety of formats including CD, Blu-Ray, digital retailers as well as limited edition vinyl. The tracklisting is as follows, we've taken the liberty of putting an asterix to denote the unreleased tracks:
