SOAK, Therapy?, Duke Special & ASIWYFA are among the heavyweight nominees
Following consultations with over 70 local movers and shakers, the Northern Ireland Music Prize 2015 has announced the 12 shortlisted acts and albums that will be vying for glory on November 14 in Mandela Hall.
It really is a bumper crop with A Plastic Rose's Flickering Light Of An Inner War; And So I Watch You From Afar's Heirs; Axis Of's The Mid Brae Inn; BeeMickSee's Belfast Yank; Ciaran Lavery & Ryan Vail's Sea Legs; Duke Special's Look Out Machines; The Lost Brothers' New Songs Of Dawn And Dust; Malojian's Southlands; Not Squares' Bolts; SOAK's Before We Forget How To Dream; Therapy?'s Disquiet and Tim Wheeler's Lost Domain all in the running.
The night will end with the presentation of the Oh Yeah Legend Award to the thoroughly deserving Neil Hannon.
Incidentally, a holidaying Hot Press kept hearing SOAK's 'B A Nobody' last week on Cretan radio.
