Morrissey praises Ireland's Yes vote...with a twist
Singer praises gay marriage vote, but quickly turns to other matters
Morrissey has given his congratulations in the aftermath of Ireland's Yes vote in the marriage equality referendum.
Praising the people of the country for teaching the church and the politicians, the singer also included a sting in the tail, as he called upon the country to next address animal welfare issues.
His statement reads
Congratulations to Ireland
The people, once again, teach the church. The people, once again, teach the politicians.
Now, Ireland, please abolish fur farms and factory-farming and transportation of live animals, and welcome yourself completely into the 21st century.
