They've taken the summer off gigging to record.
Apparently Washington indies Modest Mouse are just so wrapped up in completing the follow-up to 2007's We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank that they have had to cancel their European touring plans for the summer.
That includes their scheduled appearance on Irish shores, where they were set to play Longitude, taking place between July 19-21 in Dublin's Marlay Park.
Isaack Brock and his band were bound for the Sunday but hey, we'll still have Kraftwerk, Yeah Yeahs, Hot Chip and a whole lot more to keep us entertained.
Modest Mouse have released this statement: "We do appreciate our fans and promise that we will make up to you next year. We look forward to sharing our new music with the world next year."

Anyone who purchased a Sunday Day Ticket and wishes to obtain a refund can do so from point of purchase up to June 30.
Longitude will be announcing two new Sunday additions next week.
