The film, directed by and starring Don Cheadle, closed last years New York Film Festival
Miles Ahead, the Miles David biopic which closed the New York Film Festival last October, is set for release in April - and our first glimpse has us all sorts of excited.
Directed by and starring Don Cheadle, the film's cast includes Ewan McGregor playing Dave Brill, a journalist who gets caught up in the middle of Davis' exploits - typical journalists, eh?! - and Emayatzy Corinealdi as Frances Taylor, Davis' first wife.
Filming was completed in the summer of 2014, and after its premiere at last year's New York Film Festival the full release has been eagerly anticipated by many music fans.
Seen as the godfather of Jazz, Davis' various styles were seen as important in the evolution of modern Jazz music with John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller just some of the musicians that cite him as one of their main influences.

Davis' talent however was at times overshadowed by his personal life with a number of drug and violence issues. Cheadle seems to portray Davis at both his best and worst in this trailer that lasts just short of three minutes - whetting appetites for the release on April 1.
