Mark Ronson tops chart with ‘Uptown Funk!’
Christmas number one for the catchy Bruno Mars collaboration
After the drama surrounding its rushed release, it’s probably only right that Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars see ‘Uptown Funk!’ slotting in at the top of the Irish singles chart.
The Christmas No. 1 was pre-emptively performed on The X Factor a few weeks ago; ironically, it holds the winner of the reality show, Ben Haenow, off the top. His ‘Something I Need’ is at No. 3.
Third spot is retained by Ed Sheeran, as Band Aid 30’s renewal of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ slips to fourth. The High Hopes Choir – Ireland’s first homeless choir, formed as part of an RTÉ series – will toast their success as their Kodaline cover jumps straight in to complete the top five.
