She is Carlow-bound this spring.
Maria Doyle Kennedy plays what sounds like a very special show on April 14 in Borris House, County Carlow.
The ancestral home of the MacMorrough Kavanaghs, High Kings of Leinster, the stately pile has a stunning ballroom, which this, the first in a series of monthly gigs, will be staged in. Gates open at 6pm and punters are invited to bring a picnic to eat beforehand in the grounds. Tickets are €20 and go on sale on Friday March 16.
Doyle Kennedy, who has a leading role in TV3’s upcoming Titanic drama, will be previewing her new Sing album, which includes collaborations with John Prine, Damien Rice and Paul Brady.
Tickets can be purchased from Rollercoaster Records in Kilkenny, phone 056 77 63 669 for bookings.
