The 20th anniversary of the 1996 classic will be marked by a huge Swansea show
Maybe it's the unseasonable amount of sun beating in the windows of HP Towers this morning, but we're already looking ahead to the summer, when a cheeky trip to Swansea may well be on the cards as Manic Street Preachers line up a special show to mark the 20th anniversary of Everything Must Go.
The album, released in 1996, served as the mainstream breakthrough for the group; the first released without Richey Edwards, it earned them awards aplenty and landed their first headliner at Reading and Leeds. Now, plans are afoot for the album to be performed in full at a show in Liberty Stadium on 28 May, where Super Furry Animals and Public Service Broadcasting will supply the dutiful support.
Of course, the Manics are fans of these anniversary gigs, having taken to the road last year to mark a similar milestone for The Holy Bible. There's no suggestion that this landmark will prompt another jaunt, though, so we might well be saying noswaith dda Cymru next year.
