Three Irish nominees for Man Booker prize
Colum McCann, Donal Ryan and Colm Toibin are in the running.
The 13 names on the longlist for 2013 Man Booker prize have just been unveiled in what judges are calling the most diverse group in the accolade's history – only two, Jim Crace and our own Colm Tóibín, have been nominated before.
Tóibín, who has had two shortlist nods in the past, is nominated for last year's The Testament Of Mary.
Joining him from the Emerald Isle are Donal Ryan (for The Spinning Heart) and Colum McCann (for TransAtlantic).

The judges meet in September to decide on the shortlist, before the winner of the £50,000 is named October 15.
