New sounds from Lorde, MIA, The Darkness and more to get you over the hump day…
We've reached the halfway mark of the working week and to celebrate that minor victory, we've a host of new music to share with you.
Up first, some visuals. Young musical heroine of the moment Lorde has just unveiled her latest video. Taken from her commercially massive and critically acclaimed debut, Pure Heroine, 'Team' will be the next single from the New Zealand 16-year-old that's bound to infiltrate the charts. It also contains the fantastic line, "I’m kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air."
Amen, sister.

From the fresh-faced hip hop to hairy classic rock and roll.
The Darkness are still going strong – currently on their longest UK haul to date – and to get everyone excited over the impending special edition of third album Hot Cakes, they've given us a brand new track that opens with a little 'Whole Lotta Love' guitar nod.
Evidence that they're not quite over cheeky innuendo, here's 'The Horn'…
Another not-on-the-album bonus as MIA adds 'Trouble Again', taken from the extra bits of her recently-released Matangi album, to Spotify.

And finally, for now, if you've got a bit more time on your hands, you can drift away with Four Tet in Tokyo.
A 'live in Japan' hour-long set performed a few days back at the Hostess Club Weekender, it finds the imperious post-everything electronic producer in top form as he brings this year's Beautiful Rewind around the world. Glorious sound for 60 minutes.
Hopefully that will see you through for now – the usual, jam-packed Free Music Friday will be with you in a couple of days.
