Lou Reed joins the summer festival line-up with a date at Cork's Live At The Marquee season of gigs this June.
The summer line-up of gigs gets better and better with Lou Reed booked in to play Cork Live At The Marquee on June 23.
The Godfather of Punk – well, one of ‘em anyway – will be playing the whole of his classic 1973 song cycle Berlin, which is about a junkie couple called Jim and Caroline (no, they don’t live in Dundalk).
Although no one’s sure if he’s making the trip to the People’s Republic, Lou’s mate Antony Hegarty has lent some extra vocal oomph! to the American leg of the tour. Definitely on board are the London Children’s Choir, and full string and horn sections.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday March 12 priced between €54.80 and €65.70.
Meanwhile, two days earlier finds Reed in New York where he’s inducting that other godlike genius, Leonard Cohen, into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame.
