Little Mix have hit the number 1 spot with their new single. "Shout Out to My Ex" was only released about 2 weeks ago, but during those two weeks, it's been high on the Irish Charts. This week the pop anthem for moving on from a broken relationship passed James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" to reach number 1.
But just as we saw with "Say You Won't Let Go," "Shout Out to My Ex" is also facing some controversy for suspected plagiarism. Little Mix has come into conflict with the American band G.R.L, who say that the song sounds like their track, "Ugly Heart," from 2014. G.R.L even tweeted #ShoutOutToUglyHeart on their official twitter account. Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix addressed the controversy during a Little Mix radio interview. "I think every song is going to have a similar chord sequence, slightly similar lyrics, and melodies — you know, it happens all the time. But it doesn’t mean that they’re not both incredible songs."
