Wonder
Aussie folk-pop songstress makes twee-free lp
At this stage we’re guessing you’ve heard Aussie folk-popstress Lisa Mitchell’s ‘Neopolitan Dreams.’ The tune’s been used to score a well-known detergent commercial and is a bit like something from the Juno soundtrack (only less vomit inducing). Well thankfully, the rest of the record isn’t nearly as twee as that track and during the course of Wonder she flits between doo-wop, alt-country and off-kilter, Ed Harcourt-esque pop tunes with ease. While Wonder won’t be the record to change your life, it’s a fun distraction for 45 minutes.
