Taken from her chart-topping third album At Swim, 'Lo' sees Lisa Hannigan teaming up with director Myles O’Reilly, with whom she previously collaborated on the ‘Knots’ video.
The video features a slightly unnerving depiction of insomnia with actor Mikel Murfi restlessly moving about his house in stop-start motion. Speaking about the video, Hannigan said: "The important thing was to capture the fizzy sort of panic that comes with insomnia, the wide-eyed waves of it."
The lyrics "every last mistake I make has me in pieces" seems to echo the anxiety we all feel as we lie in bed and small grievances or mistakes keep us awake.
Called "her best album yet" by Olaf Tyaranasen in a Hot Press review of At Swim , Hannigan received praise for "understated songs of love, loss and longing, coming from a far more mature, thoughtful and confident artist than witnessed on previous outings."
