Producer Stephen Macken has been contacted by David Carson of Deloitte.
Yesterday we brought you news that €27,000 worth of funds raised from the sale of the charity cover of 'Tiny Dancer: A Song For Lily-Mae Morrison', which hit No. 2 in the charts during Christmas, could be in danger as HMV Ireland enters receivership.
There were concerns that an invoice – intended to aid the cause of Lily-Mae Morrison, a Galway child suffering from the aggressive cancer – would not be paid by HMV because of their current status.
Stephen Macken, who was instrumental in the release that brought hundreds of Irish artists together, has now issued a statement. In it, he says he has been contacted by Deloitte and things are moving towards a positive conclusion:
Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in making an official statement on Tiny Dancer and HMV but I've been inundated with phone calls from the media all day.
This afternoon I received a phone call from David Carson from Deloitte, who was appointed examiner for HMV Ireland today. He said that he was acutely aware of the sensitivity of the situation regarding Tiny Dancer and HMV and would deal with it as a priority and revert back to me as soon as possible.
I am grateful to Mr. Carson for taking the time today, in what must be an incredibly busy and stressful position, to call me and to give me this news.

I look forward to hearing from Mr. Carson in due course.
At this time, I would ask you all to be sensitive to the staff of the HMV stores here in Ireland who supported us during our campaign and remember that they are dealing with a lot of uncertainty in their lives right now and the last thing they need is to be quizzed over something about which they have no information or control.
Remember, there are no bad guys in this story, just victims but hopefully HMV Ireland can come out of examinership and secure those jobs and the futures of those 300 employees.
