The pair have been in studio writing and recording Allen's upcoming LP.
Lily Allen has never shied away from the truth and her next work will be no exception.
The 31 year old singer has always incorporated her own feelings, thoughts and experiences into her song writing and has excelled in it. Since her breakthrough hit of 'Smile' in 2006, Allen's curt and honest manner have won over thousands of fans and given her a unique edge. Now Allen and music producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson have joined forces once again and Ronson is praising the progress being made.
Speaking to The Sun, Ronson gave a small insight of what to expect; "We've been writing together again on the new record. I feel like they are some of the best songs she’s written," he insisted, "Her voice sounds incredible. The stuff I’m working on is some of her most honest and heartbreaking music ever. She writes so honestly you can feel it."
Allen has been going through a rough time recently. Although the singer hasn't confirmed it herself, apparently her marriage with current beau Sam Cooper is finished and two weeks ago, Allen's longtime stalker was sentenced after breaking into her home in the middle of the night. Her personal struggles of late have surely given Allen plenty of songwriting material that will hopefully grant some cathartic release.
Allen was meant to perform at this weekend's Glastonbury festival and fans were hoping to hear some of this new material. Unfortunately however, Allen had to pull out due to a knee injury that would have jeopardised her performance and health.
It's not yet known when this LP will rear its head but if we take Ronson's work for it, it will be worth all the wait.
