Liam Gallagher turned up in a bar in Charlestown, Co. Mayo on Sunday night – and played a few songs for the locals. The impromptu gig took place in J.J.Finans, with the former Oasis singer picking up a guitar to sing for the people who had assembled in the pub.
Liam had spent the earlier part of the day in Sligo but – while he wasn’t about to do The Wild Atlantic Way in its entirety – he did make the trip over the Chearlestown, the Co. Mayo town from which his mother originally came.
According to media reports, Gallagher also visited Mannion’s ‘Mace' in Charlestown, where he bought nine bags of Tayto crisps, five bags of Galaxy Minstrels, six Wispa Golds and some shaving foam.
In J.J.Finan’s, Liam played a new, untitled song, which seems to deal with his relationship with brother Noel. “Yes, I know I’ve been wrong,” the former Oasis frontman sings, "Didn’t do what I was told/I ain’t looking for no nine to five/ Sick of wasting all my precious time”.
The song also seems to reference Noel's his latest album, Chasing Yesterday: “When I wake up and I hear you say/ There's no love worth Chasing Yesterday / Cause it’s alright / It’s alright now.” Overall, there is a suggestion that the long-running feud between the brothers may indeed be thawing somewhat.
In October 2014, Liam announced that his band Beady Eye had split up.
