Liam Gallagher signs to Warners; there's a record to look forward to in 2017

Snow Patrol man Johnny McDaid may be involved...

Liam Gallagher has signed to Warner Bros Records with a solo album due in 2017 which may or may not feature Johnny McDaid among the songwriting credits.

Gallagher has reportedly been collaborating with the Snow Patrol man who’s written in the past for Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Kodaline, Rudimental, Birdy and Biffy Clyro.

"Very excited to be signing to the mighty Warner Brothers; looking forward to making some super sweet sounds," Liam says. "Keep the faith!"

Talking to Q recently, he expanded: “There are just 10, 11 songs I've written that are eligible to be recorded. They've got flair, attitude, the melodies are sick and the words are fucking funny. We'll record them this year and release it next year. It'll shock people. It's a record written by me, that's got all the right ingredients and sounds well tasty. You won't be scratching your chin. It's not Pink Floyd and it ain't Radiohead. It's chin-out music."

Warner Bros Records UK President, Phil Christie, is delighted with the addition to their roster.

"Liam’s one of the all-time greats; brilliant, distinctive, controversial and captivating,” he enthuses. “The album he’s currently recording is big, bold and heartfelt, and it feels important and culturally relevant. Such a strong return for one of the UK’s most loved artists."

Meanwhile, Jimi Hendrix is the inspiration for Liams Pretty Green Clothings Revolution range.

"Jimi Hendrix is an absolute force of nature, he reflects. As well as him being the best guitarist ever, he's also one of the greatest songwriters; his lyrics and his voice are equally as good and his look is as out-there as his music. Not necessarily stoned but beautiful
