Leonard Cohen returns to Dublin
The legendary singer returns in September...
Following on from last year’s terrific run of IMMA shows, Leonard Cohen returns to Dublin on September 11 and 12 for back to back O2 dates courtesy of those POD Concerts people. Tickets priced from €88.50 go on sale on Friday May 24 and will, we imagine, be snapped up in minutes.
If you haven’t seen him before you really need to; the 78-year-young Canadian, who just added two Juno Awards to his collection, is a remarkably warm performer whose back catalogue stretches over six decades.
There’s been no dip in quality either, with current album Old Ideas among his very best. Renowned for Springsteenesque two hour-plus sets, you’re sure to get an earful of such classics as ‘Suzanne’, ‘First We Take Manhattan’, ‘Democracy’, ‘Bird On The Wire’, ‘Everybody Knows’, ‘Dance Me To The End Of Love’ and ‘Hallelujah’, which is even better than the Alexandra Burke original (we’re joking!)
