US University to run course on Lady GaGa
Studying need never be a chore again!
The University of South Carolina is offering a course in Lady GaGa.
Entitled 'Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame', this is the brainchild of USC Professor of Sociology, Mathieu Deflem.
Deflem aims to examine GaGa as a social phenomenon. He asks, via the university's newspaper, The Daily Gamecock - "What are some of the mechanisms and some of the conditions of Lady GaGa's rise to popularity?...What does it mean, and how does a person become famous?"

This course marks a new area of research for Deflem, who has previously focused on criminology, policing and the sociology of law. He is, unsurprisingly, a huge GaGa fan, and has seen her perform over 28 times.
