Coming Up For Air is the biggest-selling album in the country.
It scarcely seemed in doubt but now it's been confirmed. Kodaline's second album, Coming Up For Air, has gone straight in with a golden bullet at No. 1 on the Irish Albums Chart this week. We'd call it the "Hot Press cover effect" (read their cover feature here but we do realise they're generally quite popular regardless.
Sam Smith certainly benefits from the "Grammy effect" as his debut album In The Lonely Hour jumps a spot into second position.
It means last week's occupant of that space, Ed Sheeran's X is now at No. 3. Hozier remains static at No. 4, while last week's biggest-selling record, Bob Dylan's Shadows In The Night, rounds off the Top 5 this time.
Taylor Swfit and Tommy Fleming follow (with their respective LPs; they haven't done a collection of duets together) while Kodaline's debut In A Perfect World leaps from No. 17 to No. 8.
In terms of other new entries, Father John Misty's I Love You, Honeybear debuts at No. 12 and Lisa Lambe's Hiding Away can be found at No. 18.
Beck overcomes Kanye's stage invasion to see his Grammy-winning Morning Phase return to the chart. It's at No. 21.
