Fans have voted Ireland’s Oxegen as the ‘Best Overseas Festival’ at the prestigious Festival Awards.
It's the second year running that Oxegen has triumphed at the awards after winning ‘Best European Festival’ last year.
The UK Festival Awards ceremony was held last night (Thursday 19th November) at London’s IndigO2. Over 400,000 votes were cast at www.festivalawards.com and OXEGEN saw off tough competition from festivals around the world including Spain’s Benicassim, Coachella in the USA and Ireland’s own Electric Picnic.
This new honour caps an incredible couple of weeks for Oxegen as it also scooped the accolade of ‘Top Festival Worldwide’ at The Billboard Touring Awards in New York last week.
