NYC
Cutting edge music that mirrors the energy of the Big Apple that, at times, can be a little bit repetitive.
Prolific producer Kieran Hebden never seems to stop these days. Far from churning out the same old dance beats like some of his contemporaries, Hebden is always up for broadening his sound and on the six-track NYC he’s roped in percussionist Steve Reid to bang the skins. Recorded over two days in February ’08, the release intends to mirror the pulsing energy of the Big Apple and thanks to the live drums and Hebden’s skills for making the most cutting edge music out there right now it succeeds. At time the tracks can get a little samey (‘25th Street’) but hardcore fans will love this.
