Last night at the BRIT Awards, Katy Perry performed her new hit "Chained to the Rhythm" with a whole city of backup dancing buildings (catch the video below if you missed it), and a couple massive skeleton puppets dressed up as Donald Trump and Theresa May. The puppets looked like they were shaking hands right before they burst into flame- a reference to Trump's meeting with May at the White House last month.
Perry was joined onstage by Skip Marley, who collaborated with her on the track> His lyrics drove home the political message of the performance by attacking Trump's famous "build the wall" movement with the line "It is my desire, break down the walls to connect, inspire." The song also references the fall of an empire under a revolution, saying "Time is ticking for the empire/ The truth they feed is feeble/ As so many times before/ They greed over the people/ They stumbling and fumbling and we're about to riot/ They woke up, they woke up the lions"
