Katy Perry's new track 'Roar' has gone straight in at No. 1 in the Irish singles chart while Samantha Mumba lands first hit in a decade thanks to RTE show

The Californian singer insists that she's "a champion" and everyone is going to hear her "roar" in her new single.
The Irish public have certainly heard her roar as she shoots straight into No. 1 with her release.
This means Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' dips to 2nd spot in the charts after a long stint at No. 1.
Elsewhere, Samantha Mumba enjoys her first top 5 single in a decade. The song, 'Somebody Like Me', is penned by Skerries songwriter Liz Seaver, prospering thanks to its exposure on RTE series The Hit which last week helped Eurovision icon Johnny Logan climb as high as 3 in the charts.
