West/Hova 2020?
Kanye West got serious in a wide-ranging recent interview with BBC Radio 1, discussing topics as disparate as IKEA furniture, the death of the album, and his presidential aspirations.
The Chi-Town artist was there to promote 'Fade' as The Life of Pablo's next single, but he also took the opportunity to speak frankly about his life and art.
"You know people call you crazy so much, you start to believe [those things] yourself", Kanye said, talking about the backlash he's received over the years.
West discussed how these negative reactions made him question whether he should live his truth or give up on life.
He specifically cited his success as a businessperson and being able to make art as widely discussed as the 'Famous' video as giving him validation that he's not crazy.
He further voiced his desire to make "the good life" accessible to all people, citing his aspirations to make fashionable shoes and furniture more people can afford.
Annie Mac complimented West for his range of endeavours, stating that she felt many people try to put him in a box.
Throughout the interview, the rapper continually came back to his desire to help his fellow human beings.
Discussing his prospective presidential run, he said, "I'm not saying I have any political views. I don't have views on politics. I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there's anything that I can do with my time and my day to somehow to make a difference while I'm alive, Imma try to do it. Period".
