Pride of place will be going to her haunting debut single, 'Pool Party'
The extremely hip and seriously happening Julia Jacklin is bound for Dublin’s Grand Social on November 11 with tickets priced €15 going on sale on Thursday July 14.
Given how much attention is being paid to her debut ‘Pool Party’ single, we suspect that the ‘house full’ signs will be going up for the Sydney songstress.
“When I was growing up I was so ambitious; I’m going to be this amazing social worker, save the world, a great musician, fit, an amazing writer” Jacklin says of the suffering she’s done for her art. “Then you get to mid-20s and you realise you have to focus on one thing. Even if it doesn’t pay-off, or you feel embarrassed at family occasions because you’re the poor musician still, that’s the decision I made.”
With Fiona Apple, Anna Calvi and Angel Olsen among the reference points, Ms. Jacklin makes a very heavenly noise.
