Judging by the trailer alone, we highly doubt the cardinal himself will have a good word to say on this.
The Young Pope is a joint venture between Sky Atlantic, Canal+ and HBO which must mean it's going to be good.
And if that wasn't enough, The Young Pope will be visualized through the lush imagination of Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino. set in modern day, the chain-smoking, rogue and revolutionary American Pope is incarnated by Jude Law. As Pontiff Pius XIII, Law serves as the first American Pope who's ready to be inducted into the corrupt and contradictory nature of the Vatican State.
The upcoming drama features plenty of stars to boast including Diane Keaton as Sister Mary, Bridge of Spies' Scott Shepherd, Javier Cámara, Tony Bertorelli, and James Cromwell. The trailer itself is a visionary beauty to behold in itself and expect nothing less from the Italian director.
The Young Pope will consist of 8 episodes and will air on Sky Atlantic in October.
