Singer is being treated for a "minor medical emergency"
Music legend Joni Mitchell has been hospitalised for what has been described as a "minor medical emergency," according to CBS News' Leslie Stojsic, who added that "she's resting in hospital and is among friends - a good sign," according to her sources. Initial reports from TMZ that the singer was found unconscious have been called false, but her present condition and reason for hospitalisation are still unknown.
Mitchell has suffered from Morgellons, a skin condition that weakens the immune system and causes fatigue, for several years now and has also previously contended with polio and scarlet fever. She keeps a mostly low profile these days, being all but retired from music save an occasional special event, most recently a pair of tribute shows in 2013.
