The Sultan of Brunei passed Sharia law in his country. That's why many boycott his Beverly Hills Hotel since 2014.
As a report of The Hollywood Reporter says, John Legend allegedly broke the boycott of the Beverly Hills Hotel in the end of May playing a few minutes for $300.000.
Originally he should perform on an event of the Los Angeles Confidental magazine in February but stepped back because of the boycott.
Back then a representative of Legend said "These policies, which among other things could permit women and LGBT Bruneians to be stoned to death, are heinous and certainly don't represent John's values or the spirit of the event. John does not, in any way, wish to further enrich the Sultan while he continues to enforce these brutal laws."
Obviously he had a change in mind and performed amongst other his song 'All Of Me' at the wedding of the daughter of a LA commercial realtor on May 30.
John Legend and the Beverly Hills Hotel haven't commented yet.
