The Bard Of Salford, John Cooper Clarke, returns to Irish shores this summer for shows in Belfast's The MAC (May 15) and Dublin's Vicar Street (17).
John is a regular visitor to these shores and played a packed out show at the Button Factory last June. His masterpiece 'I Wanna Be Yours' was covered by Alex Turner on The Arctic Monkey's current album and as well as his constant touring he regularly pops up on television, most recently on Celebrity Mastermind where he wowed all with his knowledge of specialist subject, The Films Of Elvis Presley.
Expect to hear 'Beasley Street', 'Evidently Chickentown' and all the old JCC faves as well as a sprinkling of new material, all punctuated with his trademark wit. Tickets are priced at €29 including booking fee and go on sale this Friday January 24 at 9am.

Here's his visit to HP Towers last summer, when he spoke to Roisin Dwyer and gave us a haunting poem titled 'Get Back On Drugs, You Fat Fuck', inspired by the shouts that have greeted him in his hometown of Manchester since he gave up the drugs!
