Folk singer Joe Purdy is coming to Whelan's
The self-described "hillbilly" will be showcasing his new album Who Will Be Next? and old favourites.
Purdy first gained success in 2004 when J.J. Abrams asked him to write a song for his show Lost.He produced Wash Away and was instantly catapulted to success with the hit. This triggered a versatile career which has seen his songs feature in tv shows such as Grey's Anatomy and films like The Secret Life of Bees. while addressing immediate transgressions.
At the Whelan's gig, fans will be able to enjoy Who Will Be Next which sees the talented Purdy continue the tradition of music established by legends Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, while adding his own swagger.
