Co-writing Madonna's new single is opening doors for the Derryman.
Ciaran Gribbin, a.k.a. Joe Echo, has been talking about the offers that have been pouring in since Madonna released one of his co-writes, ‘Celebration’, as her new single.
"The number of doors it’s opened has been incredible,” he tells hotpress.com. “Literally a week later Kylie Minogue’s people phoned; Atlantic Records were on from L.A. looking for me to submit for Missy Elliott, Flo Rida and all these other legendary people; and I’m writing eight songs for the film version of the I Was Bono’s Doppelganger book, which I’m co-producing with Mike Hedges. I had eight years in a band getting nowhere and all this happens over night – it’s crazy!”
Ciaran was in Dublin earlier this week for the Hot Press Christmas Summit, a gathering of the rock ‘n’ roll clans that also featured Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Sharon Corr, Ash’s Tim Wheeler, Delorentos’ Ronan Yourell, Vengeance & The Panther Queen’s Tara McCormack and Codes’ Daragh Anderson, and will be appearing in our next issue out on Thursday December 3rd.
Another date for your diary is December 17 when Ciaran/Joe is playing the Dublin Academy.
