The show on December 8th follows the release of the award-winning blues-rock guitar virtuoso and singer-songwriter's seventh solo studio album (and ninth solo release), The Ballad Of John Henry, in February 2009. The critically-acclaimed album splits between Bonamassa originals and selections by songwriters including Ailene Bullock, Tom Waits and Tony Joe White.

The Ballad Of John Henry coincides with Bonamassa’s twentieth year as a professional musician – a child prodigy, he first opened shows for blues legend B.B. King at age 12. Reflecting on the new album, Bonamassa says, “I feel this is my strongest work to date. Making the first half of the album, I was in the happiest place I’d ever been in my life. The second half found me in completely the opposite state. I’ve come to the conclusion that experience makes for better art. I had more to say, and it’s the first time I’ve personally opened up the book on my life, expressed things I previously wouldn’t let out.”
