Adele still the Album chart queen
Mirroring her UK chart-topping success Jessie J has stormed right to the top of the official Irish Singles chart with her anti-materialistic anthem 'Price Tag'. Jumping 11 places to the top, the BBC Sound of 2011 winner, born Jessica Cornish, moves Bruno Mars off the chart peak to No.2. Rihanna, no doubt buoyed by the controversial video for the song jumps to No.3 for 'S&M'. Jamie Lawson and Adele round out the Top 5 with 'Wasn't Expecting That' and 'Rolling in the Deep' at No.4 and No.5 respectively. Chipmunk is the highest new entry on this weeks chart hitting No.14 with his song 'Champion'.
Adele is also still the undisputed album queen with 21 staying a third week at the top. Her debut album 19 stays at No.6 with both of Imelda May's albums (giving Love Tattoo an incredible 107th week on the chart), Rihanna's Loud and Bruno Mars' Doo Wops and Hooligans making up the rest of the Top 5. James Blake's debut album, given a perfect five star review from HP's Celina Murphy just misses the Top 10, entering the chart at a modest No.11.
Meanwhile, in the Indie chart, Adele still holds both the first and second spots with 21 and 19 respectively. Villagers and Two Door Cinema Club are No. 3 and 4, while there's just one new entry this week, from Seanie Vaughan with Altered Vision at No. 5.
